Frederick William EMMS, son of Walter EMMS (c. 1857- ) and Elizabeth ROLFE (c. 1858- ), was born on 5th June 1882 in North Lopham, Norfolk. He was baptised on 9th July 1882 in North Lopham - parents Walter and Elizabeth. He was attested into the military on 25th February 1913 - a wagoner with the Army Service Corps Special Reserve for 1 year service, and served on home soil. On 21st January 1914 he re-engaged with the A.S.C. From 20th August 1914 to 7th October 1915 he served in the British Expeditionary Force. From 8th October 1915 he served on home soil. He was discharged on 24th February 1916 under Para 154 (xii), R.S.R. 1911 (improper enlistment). He died circa 1960 in Melton, Suffolk. He was buried on 14th April 1960 in Wingfield, Suffolk.
